Chapel Hill Gravel
Chapel Hill Gravel, also known as Chapel Hill grit, is a grit type of gravel. It typically has an orange coloring and the size ranges from a gritty dust up to ¾ inch when broken up. The gravel tends to have larger clumps that can be broken up as needed. This material packs down well so when calculating depth, you should factor in enough to allow for compaction.

Coverage: One cubic yard of Chapel Hill gravel covers an area of 9 x 12 at three inches deep.
(See the Materials Calculator on the side to find out how much you need)
Weight: 1 cubic yard of Chapel Hill Gravel weighs approximately 2,200-2,300 pounds.
Most standard pick-up trucks (ex. F150) or single axle 5x8 trailer can hold 1 yard because of the weight.

When using chapel hill gravel for a walkway or pathway, it is recommended you start out with 5 inches of depth. After compaction, there should be approximately 3 inches of depth.
