The medium pine bark ranges in size from approximately 1x1 inch to 2x2 inch. Pine Bark typically lasts longer than hardwood mulches, however, they have a tendency to float away with high water or heavy rains. The best application for the medium pine bark is as a coarse mulch.
How much is one cubic yard?
Coverage: One cubic yard of the fine pine bark covers an area of 9 x 12 at three inches deep.
Weight: 1 cubic yard of the fine pine bark weighs approximately 500-600 pounds. Most standard pick-up trucks (ex. F150) or single axle, 5x8, trailer can hold two yards.
When using this mulch around plants to keep in moisture and keep weed growth down, initial layers should be 3-4 inches deep.
