Triple Shredded Hardwood is a mixture of various hardwood trees. This mulch is best for plants because it tends to hold more water due to the finer hardwood pieces. As this mulch decomposes it adds nutrition to the soil. This mulch tends to be finer than the other mulches.
The triple shredded hardwood typically stays in place during high rains and water.
How much is one cubic yard?
Coverage: One cubic yard of the triple shredded hardwood mulch covers an area of 9 x 12 at three inches deep.
Weight: 1 cubic yard of the triple shredded hardwood mulch weighs approximately 500-600 pounds. Most standard pick-up trucks (ex. F150) or single axle, 5x8, trailer can hold two yards.
When using this mulch around plants to keep in moisture and keep weed growth down, initial layers should be 3-4 inches deep.
